Who is Kyle Crist?
Rejoice's on-staff counselor Kyle Crist was born and raised in an agricultural county nestled near Philadelphia, Pennsylavania. Growing up, Kyle always felt the urge to help others at church, in sports, and throughout his work. While completing his pastoral degree at Lancaster College in PA; he realized God crafted him to counsel others. Kyle loves seeing God work in his life and in the lives of those around him.
Training and Professional Background
Kyle studied Pastoral Ministry, with a minor in Professional Counseling, at Lancaster Bible College (PA). He then completed a Masters of Education in School Counseling at Capital Seminary and Graduate School (PA). Currently, Kyle is completing his Masters of Divinity at Western Theological Seminary (MI) with a focus in Disability Theology. This degree will allow him to become ordained in the RCA. Kyle is also pursuing licensure in mental health counseling in the state of Iowa.
Kyle has counseled in many capacities, including serving as a youth pastor, working at a summer Bible camp in Alaska, managing a suicide hotline, and completing internships at the Naaman Center (a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center) and Conestoga Christian School. Kyle currently serves as the Director of Congregational Care at Rejoice. As part of this role, he has established the Rejoice! Counseling Center.
Kyle uses an integrative approach to counseling. Some of his more frequently utilized techniques include biblical counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused solutions, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and narrative therapy. Kyle has counseled families, couples, students, and individuals.
